On the first day, after visiting Lexington and Concord, we will drive up to the Wynnview farm in Randolf, VT. The rest of the week we will remain there, except for our mountain hike on Friday.
Our goal for this trip is to help the boys envision the virtues needed to be a leader. This will be done through classes, sports, and mentoring. The organization classes help students realize how their plans and actions in the first year of high school are a great time to practice leadership qualities. Each participant will also have an opportunity to grow closer to God through daily Mass, meditation, and rosary.
This program takes the place of the CIT trip, with additional content added to help prepare students for high school. The two new aspects of the program are: a discussion on the play A Man for All Seasons, about the life of Thomas More, and a week-long debate tournament. Brendan and Patrick McDonald, competitive national high school debate contestants, will lead the debates.
