Chestnut Hill Center is once again hosting two Father and Son Clubs this school year. Frontiers is for fathers and their sons who are in grades 2-4. Horizons is for fathers and their sons who are in grades 5-8. The purpose of the clubs is to help fathers to teach their boys to become men of character and to spend meaningful time together.
A typical meeting will include a short talk for the boys on some aspect of character which the fathers also attend. Then boys have a creative activity during which the fathers receive their own talk on ways to help their boys grow in various virtues. Then the fathers and sons join together for an indoor or outdoor activity, such as building model rockets, playing indoor games or playing sports in the center’s backyard.
The two clubs go on at the same time, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, usually on the fourth Saturday of each month. In January or February, fathers and sons can attend a weekend of winter fun at Wynnview, up in Randolph, Vermont. The dates of the clubs for 2020 – 2021 are:
$100 for father and son; $50 for each additional son
Separate fee for the winter weekend in Vermont
